Small works are often treated as low risk because they are short, localised and easy to schedule.

None of these jobs looks substantial.

That is precisely why they are dangerous.

Passive fire protection does not measure risk by the size of the invoice or the duration of the job. A small opening through a compartment wall can compromise the same fire-resisting line as a much larger one. A single unsealed penetration can create a route for smoke and flame. One badly altered fire door can weaken a protected corridor.
